What are you guys using to duplicate / replicate PB and or 7625 ?

I'm down to several pounds of PB and I just opened my last can of 7625.

For PB - Green Dot.

For 7625 - Unique or Universal for 1 oz. and right now 800-X for 1 1/8 oz. Since 800-X is no longer made 572 looks like the next choice.

1 oz shot = 1204fps @ 6300psi

anybody using / tried this ?? Sounds too good to be true.

I have never used PB but scored a 12 pound keg and two 4 pounders this week. I think I did pretty good 20lbs total for $360

I loaded a few to try last summer. Wouldn’t cycle my auto 5, so for sure under 7500 psi. Haven’t went back to them yet. They did break clays just fine.

I actually thought the pressure was lower on that recipe... but, I'm going to strip petals, and see how it patterns with #8 lead....

I have several of the real ones and 1 of the "NEW" Benelli A5. I really like them both.

Very surprised that load won't cycle your gun. 1oz @ 1200fps should be no problem, I would've thought .

Mine has new springs, it pulled the bolt back, but not enough to eject it. Long time ago I tested different loads and found out it takes about 8000 psi. I’m sure with an old spring or little more oil I could make it work. Now 8000 not being any standard, just what it took for mine and the loads I was shooting at the time. I don’t suggest using that to determine pressure, but if you shoot enough loads in one you can get a certain feel for about where your at.

Disassemble the entire action down to the springs and pins, clean it all including the rear action rod and inside of the receiver until everything gleams, and you will be surprised, or shocked as I was, at how well it cycles.

I’ll guarantee you that it’s been done already

Yes sir win7stw is correct. It’s been fully disassembled and cleaned and lubed. I really didn’t mind it not cycling with those loads. I have no doubt I could make it cycle, was more interested in what pressure load would and would not cycle under my normal set up. I normally don’t load below 9500-10,500 psi anyway. I do have a few old school Sxs that I don’t shoot those in just for the wood sake. I shot some RST’s today in an early 1900 Stevens 12 ga hammer gun. They are suppose to be 1200 fps and 5400 psi. 7/8 oz. They were actually pretty nice to shoot. I’m not sure what powder rst uses yet, but the falcon lite use the pt-1205 wad. I would like to have a similar load to load up for the Stevens. I only got 6 boxes left and rst has no stock.

I suspect the velocity of that ounce must not be as high as advertised. Gas pressure doesn't figure in how the Auto 5 operates, aside from the velocity it impels to the shot. An ounce at 1200 fps will cycle both my Sweet Sixteens without fail. Even factory loads of an ounce at a purported 1165 fps work. Of course, it might be just your gun.
