Does anybody know anything about side-by-sides made by Smith and Wesson ?
I was in one of my local shops on Friday and saw in the used gun rack a really nice S&W double, 20 ga, English straight stock, 28” barrels, SST, presumably with ejectors (reminisent of a Browning BSS) - asking $ 2400.00+.
I don’t recall S&W ever making shotguns. |

I've got one only in my configuration of PG butt stock. They were marketed as S&W Elite Gold Heritage shotguns with a lifetime warranty. The guns were made by AKUS of Turkey, probably the best gun manufacturer over there. That is the same company that builds the Dickinson guns and a myriad of others imported under various names. $2400 is about twice the price I got mine for when clearanced through CDNN, but still nice guns. |

I don't recall ever seeing a S&W SxS, but they certainly sold shotguns under their name, even though to the best of my knowledge they never actually MADE any of them.
I have a S&W Model 1000 12 ga autoloader that I bought brand new in 1978. That particular gun was made by Miroku in Japan. It's a gorgeous shotgun. |
