My 97 acts like it's not going in to battery. Bolt locks up but it won't fire. I can push up on the carrier and it will, I think it may be worn. Any suggestions welcomed.

I assume the issue is with ammo and not just no ammo cycling??

Reloads or factory>

If factory, what brand?

I would assume the 97 is 2 9/16 or shorter chambered

Try 2 1/2 inch ammo

or factory Remington ammo

Mike

Not an ammo problem, does it when empty too.

Did google and Yahoo searches, most of those sites I been to. I'd looked into sending it to a couple smiths, but none wanted to work on a 16. I think there are parts worn, just don't know what to look for or replace.

which are on the side faces of the carrrier, they hold the carrier up for firing.

Also the recesses they fit into. [hopefully, these are not worn.

At least now I know what to look for. I'll get back to you.
