So in my absence from the scene the last 2-3 years a quick search had me worried that Nice Shot may be out of the game. The site does look updated and supposedly they have #7 16 gauge ammo in, but nothing else. Wondered if anyone in the brain trust was aware of the state of the best nontoxic out there? |

Thanks Mark, Some years ago I got a box of reloads in a shoot drawing that I've never used but maybe should. 28 gauge,5/8 oz 6s Nice shot loaded to a supposed 1395 fps with Herco. Only thing I would use them for here in MN would be pheasants on WPA's but 5/8 just doesnt seem like enough for pheasants. |

It was 10.3 g/cc average, varied a little during manufacturing. Mag lead is 10.6 g/cc depending on the antimony content. |

Not that I know of. The cost of materials and production puts the cost way too high. |

The company is still here but the original blend of Nice Shot itself is on the back burner. I couldn't justify the price after it passed $50/pound.
As long as I can get components I'm going to concentrate on the 16ga 2-3/4 bismuth loading for the people that don't roll their own ammo. No bulk sales. |

Thanks you for responding. I sadly miss the availability but certainly understand the current need for dormancy under the conditions. I was looking forward to using it for a duck/pheasant hunt next season. I have friends still in NW Iowa with private property prime for both. I’ve not visited since leaving 62 months ago and would rather have used it to steel shot. |

You are correct that NICE Shot is no longer being made. It's manufacturer, Eco tungsten, is still producing tungsten products but when China declared tungsten a "Strategic Material" the price of the raw material got too high for the commercial production of shot. When they stopped selling it, I purchased their remaining supply and would be happy to share it, at my cost, for a vintage gun shooter.
In my experience, it is the best substitute for lead that is safe for the barrels of vintage guns.
