Anybody have one of these?

Seems like a reasonable price considering the machining involved, although quite a bit more costly than jamming an XACTO knife blade in a dowel.

Do these work with paper hulls? My Italian made trimmers do not. How do you guys trim paper hulls down to 2.5” or less?

Jimmy: not worth a shit for paper. What I do for paper. I ordered the 12 gauge spin and trim from BP. Then I replaced the rubber(black) looking deal they put on the tool with a machined piece that fits whatever gauge paper hull, I’m trimming. The thing with paper is it tends to tear if not supported on the inside. The modified spin and trim works great.

I don't think they do, you would need to trim from the outside with a compression cutting wheel against a mandrel, sort of like a pipe cutter perhaps. The paper hulls are pretty thick.

All the paper hulls I have were 2-1/2" to start with anyway, yes I save them all, even though I'm not even sure I'd bother reloading them.

I'm counting the days until RST gets the components and can start making their lite papers again. I don't know what powder they use, but it sure smells good when I pull the trigger and the #7 lite kills birds just fine.

I just mount my drimel to my bench with a cutoff disc on the shaft.Make me a stop for the length and lay the hull against the stop. Spin it with one finger and zap perfect cut. Can do averageshift. 20 a minute if in a hurry. Paper or plastic and works for all gauges. It's not particular which gauge. Dremmel cost less than the cutoff tool you show and can be much more useful for many jobs.

I use an oak dowel. I figure out the length I want and make a tiny hole in the dowel and insert a pointed exacto blade at a slight angle point first toward the hull. I tap it in pretty good so it’s solid. It slices hulls perfectly and very quickly.

Its over kill but I use a powermatic model 66 table saw with a v block clamped to a mitre gauge and a finish blade
The stop at the end of the v block needs a gap so the rim hangs off the end. Cuts paper plastic like magic

I took a 2x4 cut it off 8" long, drilled 3 equally spaced holes to fit a 16 gauge hull reasonably snug. Set the fence on my table saw 2 1/2" off the finish blade. Keep the hulls snugly up against the fence using the 2x4 and 3 hulls at a time cut perfectly to length. Clean cut and easy.

I don't know if this method would work with paper hulls.

I believe Mike C. was the one who brought this idea to this forum, so the credit goes to Mike.

I remember Mikes set up, it was well built
One other tip dealing with paper hulls all reloading processes go better if the hull is heated up I made a 16 gauge hull conditioner with a soldering iron and a aluminum
plug I turned on a lathe and threaded to screw on to the soldering iron
I have a Texan 12 gauge hull conditioner the resizes and reshapes the hull it works great with federal gold metals not so good with any paper 16s
mec also made a hull conditioner that bolted on to the side of your loader see them at old gun shops and ebay once in a while

Old gunsmith back in the early 60's when paper hulls were the norm and a Lee hand loader was affordable. He told me to put the paper hulls as many as I could get on a cookie sheet . Put the oven on 100 degrees. Leave the hull in 10 to 15 minutes. Pull out let cool then go to loading. Worked just fine and still does when needed.
That was my first experience at mass production of loading.
