Bought some win super x 1 oz 1165fps high brass shells lately and to my surprise they measure 68mm much like the Remingtons that operate my short 16ga autos. Much better than 1200fps remmys on short chambered guns.
Anybody notice this also? Not a bad deal! |

If only my local Wally store had 16. Found some 12 and 20 federal’s. I will be on the hunt. |

They have been in stock at my local Walmart but have been priced as low at 11.95 and as high as 16.99 at those prices I just have to leave them on the shelf which is sad but I can reload a decent bit cheaper than that. |

In my mind even if you can't reload cheaper. Is better to reload and leave them stay on the shelf. Once stuff stay on the shelf and inventory awhile they will be glad to move them later. |

Local Wallies had no shotgun ammo EXCEPT a few boxes of 16 ga #8 at $12 ea. We left them on the shelf. We snatched up a 350 rnd box of .22 LR for $22. Strange times.

Last year I picked up 6 boxes of Federal 2-3/4” 16’s in 7-1/2. Proper purple color as well. I believe they were around $8 a box. I grabbed all they had. The grouse don’t like them much but I do. |

Took out a box of Winchester and Federal 2 3/4 and a box of Gamebore 67mm black powder 16 ga shells. The Federals measures 2 1/2 inches, the Winchesters 2 1/4 inches. The longest were the Gamebore shells which, surprisingly, measured 2 3/4 on the nose. Of course, they were roll crimped but still, I was shocked at how much longer they were than the Federals and an astounding half-inch longer than the Winchester shells. I don’t plan to mess with 2 1/2 shells any longer. I’ll fire the 2 3/4 Federal and Winchester shells at 1165 FPS and enjoy the savings and availability. |
