I’m curious what members are planning to carry out this spring on their turkey hunts. |

I am using a 16 ga. 1 1/4 oz. handload of buffered lead #5's, just as I did last year. I took 3 turkeys with 3 rounds. From about 25 to 30 yards. Using a 1962 vintage Remington 870 with a modified choke. Pattern percentage was 88% at 40 yards, although I didn't run a lot of patterns, but I will this year. |

I’ll be using arrows.
If I used a shotgun, it would be lead #5 shot, probably 1 1/4 ounces from a 12 ga. |

I will probably be loading up some loads of 6's to use in my 1912 LC Smith 10ga that I just won. Or maybe my M11 16ga with the polychoke cranked to full and use some good old purple Federal high brass 6's. |

I'll be using my 22 pellet rifle again this spring. Last year I took one . Nailed him just below the eye at approximately 40-45 yards. Hope to do again this year. Sure lot cheaper than what they charge fot turkey ammo. Bill |

Hand loaded tss 1 3/8 in 12 gauge. Would like to use a 20 gauge but haven’t found the one I want with everything going on the last few years. |

I recently bought a pound of tss to play with, loading data for 16 gauge is pretty poor from most of the tss suppliers that usually produce load data for you or utilize wads that have been sold out for 2 years(vp80). If anyone has some tss Turkey or waterfowl duplex loads please post them up or send me a private message.
Also has anyone experimented with 1oz TSS loads for Turkey 300-365 pellets of tss seem like plenty depending on how your gun patterns. |

I'll give you guys want a # to call if your wanting hand loads for Turkey, coyotes.
He has a manufactIuring license. And many time has a booth at your better gun shows in the country. I do know he loads 12, 20, 28. 410. It's not just Tss but all different nontoxic loads.
His name is Brice and the # is . 574 780 7506. I don't know if he loads for 16.
I have nothing in this. No monetary adventures of any kind. I am a friend of his father who happens to be a preacher and one of the old man breakfast coffee drinkers in the morning at McDonalnuts 7 ud's. Bill |

My wife and I will use some Hevi-shot handloads that maximumsmoke was peddling out of the trunk of his Cordoba a few years ago.
There was one box of new black paper hulls loaded with heavy shot sixes. My wife has three one shot kills in 3 years. I have taken one over those three years. |

I need to build some 2-1/2” loads for a Husqvarna 310 choked full/xfull. I have some #6 nickel plated shot. I think 1 oz should be plenty.
Lead is my answer. |

Looks like a pretty decent pattern with your current choke. Thanks for posting that up! |

We're allowed two turkeys in Oregon. For the first, I'll go with tss out of a 410 or 1 1/8oz 5's or 6's out of my 16 Dickinson or Lefever CE 12. Haven't decided yet. If I get one, then I'll switch to my recurve bow for the second. Tried my bow opening morning last year, and had to let a nice gobbler walk away at 35 yds. That's tough sledding. |
