The only Remington primers I’ve seen are the STS ones. Have a chance to buy some older Remingtons in the old green & orange boxes. Not familiar with these. How old are they (production dates) Load data availability?

I assume you mean those marked #97 or 209?

“Extensive testing with a variety of commonly-used reloading powders has shown that these 209 Premier STS primers, in comparison with other commonly-used primers, create reductions of up to 40 percent in the high-to-low spread of velocities in reloads. This resulting improvement in velocity consistency is an important benefit to those reloading target loads for practice or competition. 209 Premier STS primers can be substituted for Remington's previous 209P primers without changes in published reloading formulas. 100 per pack"

They have also explained the 209 and 209p are not the same. 209p were not as hot.

I also have #57 primers which are an entirely different animal all together.

Those are 209P so you can use them like 209P STS which is the current made units.

Thanks
When did they stop producing these? The STS were always the most expensive of most 209 primers. We’re these pricier than most when on the market?

Remington stopped producing the 209P Premier primer back in the late 1990's. The 209P-STS primers came out when the STS and Nitro lines of target ammo were introduced.

Some lots of the 209P primers absolutely sucked. You couldn't get a decent target load using them. Some lots were so bad that Remington actually sent out replacement primers.

So these are not a very desirable primer and would not constitute a premium price in todays market for the informed. Thanks for the information. I believe I will pass @ $80 a 1000

I’d offer a hard line at $50 per 1,000.

From what I saw with those 209P primers, I wouldn't even consider them for $20.00 per 1,000. I wouldn't use them at all.

$80.00 per 1000 is ridiculous.

But that is my 2 cents. YMMV

The 209-4 primers also pictured were for .410 reloads.
