Does anyone have the above referenced firearm?
I hear the Tristar won't and my new model Browning won't. I am curious if any of the older versions managed this unicorn status. |

I shoot 7/8 oz. loads in my 16 gauge 1100 with no issue. It isn't a particularly hot load @ 1260 FPS 8,100 PSI. 16 grains 700-X. It will cycle 3/4 oz. loads also. You have to run it wet, using Breakfree CLP. |

I shoot 7/8 oz loads with no issues through a 16 gauge Savage 720 (Browning Auto5 clone).
Cheddite hull
14 grains 700X powder
Cheddite 209 Primer
CB0100-16 wad
3 pinto beans as filler*
1230 fps
*16 gauge wads are hard to come by. It works for me. |

My American Browning A5 will only go down to 15/16 oz. I never tried a fast 7/8 oz.
1200 fps. 7/8 oz. would not though.

7/8 oz. reloads @ 1220 fps cycle fine in my Rem 11-48 and A5 Belgium Browning Sweet 16. |

My new ID A5 will run on with 7/8oz of shot and 20 grains of Unique. My 1400 Winchester will run on much lighter loads. |

Both my 48's will cycle 3/4 and sometimes 5/8 . This with only 13.5-14grns of fast powder . |

This is all good to know. I was wanting a quick reference place to ID potential candidates. |

Lyman's 5th edition has recipes for 7/8 oz loads in the 16. I use the Green Dot data and it cycles my Sweet Sixteens and 11-48, so it meets the parameters for long recoil guns. My 1100 will cycle 3/4 oz loads reliably, but it's a gas gun and easier to work with in that regard. |

7/8 oz. payload by itself doesn't mean much. Velocity and recoil for the Sweet 16 along with gas volume\pressure for the gas operated G2 matter as much as the payload.
There is a guy on SGW that has been shooting 7/8 oz. in his Tristar 16 with no problems.
My Tristar with 7/8 oz. in a Ched/Ched DR16 and 17.2 gr. of GD will cycle every time. But of course with 15.5 gr. of GD it does not and I really didn't expect it to.
Not sure if it will in the new Sweet 16 as it is a dedicated grouse gun now. The same guy on SGW says his Sweet 16 will cycle with his 7/8 oz. loads. But with the Sweet 16's the amount of recoil required to cycle them seems to all across the board and hit or miss. Have a feeling that 18.0 gr. GD with 7/8 oz. in a Ched/Ched with a DR16 would cycle them though and IIRC they tested out at 10,800 psi. Some place on here it was posted you might want to double check.
For clays I really like the Tristar Viper G2 a lot but shoot 1 oz. of #7.5 in it for the most part. When Kevin gets around to making another run of DR16 wads I will likely load up some 7/8 oz. for skeet with smaller sized shot for it. |

My new to me Rem 1100 will cycle everything all the way down to 3/4 oz load that I got from browningsweet 161977. I think the right load properly sized is the trick along will a well maintained and broken in gun. |

Who would be a dealer that can get one in stock if I were to order one.
Anyone I call don't have 16 in and can't get one if it's not in their warehouse. |
