Yes, and I still have a couple bags of new primed hulls like yours. My problem w/ them was that they were un-skived and I was pretty new at the 16 bore reloading game. I'm sure I would have much better success w/ them now. I think I still have the data sheets. They load fine w/ Cheddite info. |

BPI sells a power skiver that you use with drill, or they also make a super crown crimp starter for MEC loaders. |

df,
You can load almost any load in an unskived hull. Skiving helps with 8 point crimps, but 6 point crimps really don't need to have a skived hull.
IMHO, there is no need to skive a hull, it makes the hull thinner and more susceptible to cracking at the crimp folds. Never seen it help a 6 point crimp.
I always use a load that has the proper wad column height, I don't touch any adjustments on my Sizemaster, I use the MEC crimp starter and the crimps come out very nice and flat.
YMMV |

If they have plastic base wads they were made by Fiocchi for CIL all Canadian production had paper base wads. The primer in the pic looks like Fiocchi the CIL 4BP were all brass . IMHO if your load column is correct and the crimping station is adjusted properly skiving is a waste of time. |
