Any interest in a 16 gauge Sporting Clays event this Fall/Winter in Central Florida? Let me have your comments/suggestions. This would be a non-registered event open to any and all types of 16 gauge shotguns.

A lot of hits--but no comments. An indicator of little interest?

Maybe if it was an event with all types of clay shooting there might be more interest. like the 16ga shoot we used to have up in Minnesota in May. Also, many 16ga shooters also hunt so an event after the main hunting seasons is over would get more interest.

After the bad experience at the Southern Side by Side this year i am open to a different event. I went to Navy boot camp in Orlando in 1979 and later was stationed at the NAS in Jacksonville so a winter visit to Florida would be a welcome trip.

This. In the fall until January I stop shooting clays and hunt feathers with the dogs. In fact most clubs around here stop throwing birds come September. And just started throwing them this week, clays are a short season at most clubs around these parts.

Jeff did a lot or work setting up the Sweet 16 shoot and had enough variety to make it interesting and worth the drive. Although it was a short drive for me. I can and usually do shoot 5 stand 3 days a week here and just got a call this morning from a friend, that is on here, asking me if I would be interested in helping setting up a 5 stand course at another club to make it 4 days a week. Would have to be more shooting involved than just 5 stand to be a destination that far away. And Trap doesn't count LOL. But skeet is OK.

Graduated Navy boot camp from Great Mistakes during the Great Blizzard of Jan 78. Right in the middle of it. Was in Orlando for Nuc Power School in 78-79. TAD back around Orlando and Pensacola a few times over the years.

We have a hospital in Jax. Friend I work with is also retired Navy and was stationed in Kings Bay when it first opened. Last month he went down there to see some old shipmates that settled and still live there. He could go into the hospital if needed but work remotely for the most part. Didn't have to take much PTO but still got a break from old man winter. In the dead of winter I might be able to be talked into a trip back East down South for a couple of weeks. Dogs complicate things however.

The wife and I spend November in the Dade City area. We shoot Sporting Clays during that time with a friend who lives in Lakeland. All 3 of us would be interested.

That would be great for the well healed. The general shooters that leaves out.

With the price of gas and the proximity to most these places hosting these days I have to choose to opt out.

I miss going to St. Paul, but I have to be mindful of cost more so these days.

I understand the benefits of local shoots in light of all the expenses involved
with travel, etc. I had no intention or illusion of a large shoot with multi vendors--but rather a gathering of shooting fans to enjoy the company and day w/o heavy target fees.

Thanks all for sharing your thoughts.
