House bill HR8167 is being introduced by Andrew Clyde (R-GA).
This bill would literally guy the Pittman-Robertson Act. This act has contributed over 10 Billion dollars to conservation in the U.S.
I have contacted my states representatives to protest.

Just saw that...
Our rep supporting it is a Republican, but her bio screams liberal academic...
She's not a representative of my district, but my representative, also a Republican didn't even know what P-R was...
Gotta drain the swamp. P-R isn't a political bargaining chip... it was, is and shall always be the provider for the outdoors. |

The person introducing is a Republican from Georgia. On of the co-sponsors is from my district in Idaho. Needless to say he got an earful from me and so far 2 of my buddies.
Apparently, they think they are eliminating a tax, but, they don't have any suggestions as to how to replace the money for wildlife and conservation.
Never had any of my fellow hunters complain about the tax.

Gentlemen,
Elections do matter, especially when illegally mailed in, with no voter ID.

Hi guys -- I know we are almost all on the same page here in the 16 Gauge Society, but I think the founder intended this forum to be restricted from any political discussions. I'm pretty sure that was a stated intent, in order to keep the forum members on the subject of reverence for the 16 gauge -- the defining specialty -- and all that goes with it, such as shooting, hunting, reloading, guns and their care and history, etc. I know that restriction against stuff like politics and religion is difficult as there is so much on those fronts to discuss these days, and we'd like to have such discussions with our friends, many of them being here on this forum. However, there might be better forums or places on which to have such discussions and unleash our frustrations.
Kind Regards,
Tony |

Sorry you feel this way. I just thought it was important enough that people are aware of it. Excuse me for breaking the all mighty rules.

Maximum Smoke is correct, though both he and I agree with the sentiment against the reduction in that particular tax.
That said, the road to politics is a short road to hell and our board is better for avoiding it. |

Doesn’t matter which party you ascribe too. We all need to make sure our congressional reps and Senators need to keep there hands off the Pittman-Robertson and Dingle-Johnson Acts that were sponsored by sportsmen and women to provide funds for Game and Fish Management in the states. Let them know where you stand but temper your comments if you want a positive outcome. |

Gentlemen
I have received several messages this weekend both complimenting the forum for it's former civility and then telling me they are going to leave if the name-calling and personal attacks continue unabated. I agree with them.
The catalyst for this latest round is POLITICS, to the point, gun-control.
This forum is intended to be a meeting place for 16ga. owners and a fountainhead for information about the guns and gauge. Its information that makes this forum worthwhile not rants or opinion.
NO POLITICS ON THIS BOARD. Its divisive, boring and off-topic.
From now on, I will delete posts and topics related to gun control issues or politics in general. Dissenters or repeat offenders will run the risk of being banned from the forum. The issues in question are better suited for other forums not 16ga.com.
Thank you and I look forward to returning to normal.
Regards, --Doug |

Thank you maximumstroke and skeettx for making the founder of this forums thoughts and wishes clear... IF you want to peddle things not 16 GA. related go elsewhere and peddle away. Doug started this group based on ALL things 16 ga. not based on all things... |
