We need to see all the dogs and pups out there that are headed to the woods or prairies this fall.
Good Hunting,
Mike

That pic was actually taken in Baldwin, WI (Good-Go-Ing Kennels) by Jason Gooding when Cedar was up there for training. I missed several opportunities last fall when he was on point along trails in the U.P. (camera in another vest).
Good Hunting,
Mike |

Nice pics and dog work. The only wild birds I get my dog into are grouse, woodcock and an occasional pheasant. I used to get out to S.D. (Tripp County) every year, but the fellow I went with passed away a number of years ago. That added sharpies to the list.
Good Hunting,
Mike |

Mike,
Beautiful Ryman Setter Blue Belton, just incredible, my male is now over 12 years old and retired, my Gordon pup Pine Creek Shadow is the only active gun dog I have right now.
Lost my beautiful Ryman Setter puppy to stomach cancer, she will be replaced in late fall or early winter this coming year, by the breeder.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave

Taz will be with me in South Dakota again. He's a good little pointer.

Marsh is my machine. He finds them in all terrain. Knock down a rooster and he retrieves every one. If there is a wounded runner he tracks it until found. He's the best pheasant hunter I've ever had. Super waterfowl dog in all conditions. He loves it all.

The two main dogs I'll be hunting behind this year. Planning on a couple of weeks around the southern portion of South Dakota on the National Grassland and walk-in areas. Then on to my buddy's Idaho ranch to chase chukar, Huns, pheasant and California quail.
8 year old Rebel, a seasoned road warrior.
2 year old Dan, second season on wild birds. Great nose and a lot of style |

Rusty is a Border collie, sable coat color variant. Black and white is the most common coat color, but BC's come in many colors and patterns. |

Wyo,
love the splash of blood across Rusty's face in that second picture. A true warrior! |

I once read that border collies are one of the smartest breeds. It is always nice to see pictures of Rusty. How old is he?
Riflemeister, I ran shorthairs for about 40 years and the last one passed on just a few years ago. For awhile I always had an English and a Shorthair. My last Shorthair was a large male that I kept from a litter because no one wanted him. He grew into a handsome lad and one of the best bird dogs I have owned. My current Setter, Cedar, was the pick of the litter and he is developing into a fine bird dog. I am anxious to see how he develops in the grouse woods this year.
Good Hunting,
Mike |
