Hooch,
Have a great time, SM dogs make great Pheasant dogs, and even better Grouse Dogs. Take and post some pictures for us!
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave
L.C. Smith Man, who has owned great SM dogs.

Just got back from SD last evening. The first few days there the weather was brutal with the cold, high winds and drifting/drifted snow. Hunted behind labs, that were tanks when it came to busting through the cattails, where many of the birds were found.
We had some good success, considering the weather and the Saturday deer opener, which found a bunch of the deer hunters parked on many of the Walk in Areas.
Good luck and hope you had some great success! |

IDcut,
The weather for grouse hunting has been miserable here in Pa, not to cold yet but raining all the time, Pine Creek is 3/4 up to the bank and running dangerously for this time of year. We do not want to shoot Grouse crossing Pine Creek right now, dangerous for the dogs when they want to retrieve.
Glad you had a good time upland hunting, even with the poor weather.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave
