I recently bought a new Browning Citori superlight feather, 16 ga. Are the barrels supposed to be chromed? I can't tell from an inspection of it. I have a couple of Franchi shotguns and it is easy to tell they are chromed, but I can't on this one. I rean Bill Hanus' article and he says they are, but the Browning literature does not say so. |

One way you can check a barrel for chrome lining is to take a Q tip with some cold blue on it and touch it inside the barrel. If it is chrome the blue will not take and will wipe right off. If it is not chrome then you will have an ugly blue spot in your bore:lol:
I do believe the Citoris have chrome lined bores though.

Citoris don't have chrome lined bores - only chambers.
Berettas have chrome lined bores though.
Chrome lined bores are not neccessarily a good thing, just depends. |
