Anyone have any published load data using the long discontinued Activ hulls, Longshot powder and 1 1/8 oz of shot? |

Activs had more volume than any other available hull. I use data for Federal hulls in the Activs. Even then the crimps are usually dished a bit. |

BPI had a 1 1/8 lead load with Longshot, but the pressure on them was borderline over pressure (10,500) also very fast @ 1380 FPS |

I seen some recipes using 800x. But never liked 800x. I have some 700x I use for 1oz which works out very well for me.
I would think universal would work out better. I would like to use 20/28 but I have seen no published for 1 1/8 oz. 20 28 always shows pressures very compatible with universal. |

I’ve seen that load Old colonel2 refers to. It came from a ~20 year old Z16 load sheet BP included with the wads when ordered. Comparing to other recipes with Longshot, it is very suspect. I would start down the path DanLee recommends and send some loads in for testing. I have built Activ loads from straight wall recipes, but I avoid SP16 or WAA16 wads due to powder migration. I have not sent them for testing yet, so I won’t divulge. |

Thanks guys. I won’t use BPI data. I had their 16 ga manual, and found stack heights to be way off on the loads I tried. Not sure how they develop data, but it doesn’t work for me. |
