And the SG-16 wad? Talking 7/8 oz loads. I've been using the DR-16 wads, but I'm about out of them and looking for a substitute. Thanks! |

I believe I have data for one load. I'll have to look next time I wade through the snow to the reloading room. It's from the spreadsheets. |

Had this one tested to burn up an open bottle of 20/28 from a trade, nice little Summer Skeet load.
Hert/Ched, 2.5", Ched209, 17g 20/28, SG16, 5/8oz #9lead, 6fold. Avg; 1211 & 3818.
The other 3 I'm comfortable sharing (generated by someone on this forum, not BPI) from the spread sheets are identical in RGL's w/15.5g 20/28 and DR16 wads, exception, comparing 3 different Ched, Rem & Win209 primers, 1119/6160, 1124/6140 & 1105/5760 respective. |

I use 20/28 for mainly trap games. B wad with filler on bottom of shot. 1oz shot, cheddite primer 21 gr 20/28. Om my crno checke out average 1258 fps. This load is on one of the sites . This load works for me from 16 yed all way back to the shootoffs back from the 27 yrd 15 t0 20 yards.
This is using Herters, cheddite, winchester hulls. |

Putz, I want to try that load in 2 1/2" Herters with 20/28. Hard to believe the pressure is that low. I have 13 pounds of 20/28 and lots of SG16 wads--still have 2 bags of DR16 also. With the loss of International for 3/4 oz loads, that should be fine. |

I'm good to go on the RGLs with the CB 7/8 oz wad and Unique. Still looking for more RGL hulls. Have Federals to swap. |

3birddogs, glad, use in good health, a great little summer T shirt short range/bottom barrel load.
Ibrown, have some RGL's could part with. Are the Fed hulls you have the older brass heads? Or newer steel/brass washed heads? Prefer the newer steel ones. |

Some of mine are older, marked Hiawatha rather than Federal. But I'm sure they're the same as the old Federals. But I think that I have at least 100 newer ones, all once fired.
I did go ahead and buy 8# Unique from Brownell's. Even getting rid of shipping and hazmat since I was down in Iowa and picked it up at their store, it was still pretty expensive. But I don't know when I'll see any more. And a friend gave me 3 bags of DR-16's, so I'm temporarily back to reloading Herters. And hoping they end up making more of those this summer.
My bad. It was 8# of 20/28 I bought. I have plenty of Unique.
I checked my Federal hulls with a magnet. I have 134 with steel heads. The rest are the old brass ones. I'd take either Herters or RGL hulls in good shape in return. If anyone is interested in older Feds with brass hulls in good shape, I would guess that I have maybe 150 of those in good shape. I'd prefer swapping all of them to the same individual for either Herters or RGL hulls, but I'll split up the Federals if I have no takers on both old and newer ones. Thanks. |

Thanks for checking on the steel heads. If/when you decide to split them up I'd like to trade 1:1 Herters for steel Fed's. |
