Prices are still about the same : 2-6 size shot 159 bucks , 7-9 sizes are about 169 .... still free shipping on 10#ers ..... sale ends FRI .... Their add states that finally the metal costs are coming down - not helping us yet - just holding steady . |

Oh my!
I had not realized this site has become such a hotbed of political activity.
I will try to be more sensitive to what I post. |

I'm kinda hoping they come down a bit more by summer. I'm a big fan of Rotometals Bismuth. Fours work great in my 16 gauges, and ones in the 12 gauges. At 78 I can't do a all-day upland hunt anymore But I can park my butt in a boat , blind or hedgerow pretty good. Hence the need for fixed choke friendly Non-Tox shot. |

Stir that pot
How I see it....
Roto $169/10# -$10 = $159/10# = $15.90/#
BPI $107.70/#7 = $15.38/#
I realize Roto has free shipping over $149 but BPI has some decent flat shipping fee's at times, and IMO the BPI pellets are far and away superior to Roto's. Re; round/spherical. I'll pay the small premium for round pellets.
Roto's statement..."Roundness- Note unlike lead or steel Bismuth shot is not round,(theirs isn't round, BPI's is) but will still shoot and pattern excellent! BB's may have small satellites or tails but this actually helps to not generate as much drag in the air similar to a golf ball ie less sticky in the air. "..... flies in the face of everything I know and understand about making the best long range hunting ammo, so much so I'm all in on the use of buffer (reduced pellet deformation) in Biz loads to get that much more reach/control out of hunting loads. |

Bought 2 25 bags of #8 shot yesterday at Sportmans Warehouse in Walla Wa. for
$56.99. They have a few of the larger sizes left. |

Thanks for the tip! I just ordered a couple bags of #5 which I had good success with on ducks this season. I find the Rotos pellets stack a little better in the small hulls of the .410 because they are not perfectly round. Only $14.50/lb with the multiple bag discount. Should be able to load up some 1oz bismuth loads for the 16ga at right around a $1 a round. |
