Went to gunshow today. First one I've been to for a year or so. Nothing I needed. Just went to see what was happening and seen many shooting friends just struggling to purchase reloading supplies of any type. For rifle, pistol. Shotguns. 1000 small pistols primers for
150-175$ a 1000. Only 1lb bottles of powders are 40.00 $ lb. I did find reclaimed shot from one of the clubs I shot at for 40.00$ 25lb. Don't need any but think I'll buy 50 lbs.
Basicly it was a big show but nothing exciting about people buying. Not enough powder, primers to go around. Just two expensive. My predictions are coming pretty close. Sport shooting of any kind is being squeezed and price out of the sport.
I haven't been wrong yet. 2 years you won't see hardly any clay targets because shortage of pitch to make the making them to expensive. Before Obammy most guys would not touch reclaim shot. Now shooters would give their nuts for it. I don't like raining on anybody parade but to ignore the facts and not talk about it is what brings us to this point.
As I said I started buying 15 years ago planning for this very thing. Been retired 10 years and supplied well. Bill

not all true, just picked up 1k of cci small rifle primers at the local trap range for $67 they also had small pistol primer, but I just bought 5k of Ginex primers from Bosnia , went to a huge gun show and they had pallets of ammo for sale and real good prices. also just picked up 8 lb of wsf powder for a real good price. prices are getting better, just don`t buy from the hoarders.

I’m seeing decent availability of primers in the twin cities, except LR. And prices $69=99 per 1000. And powder, decent choices $35-50 per pound.

Looking at websites---seems like powder is rising in cost while supply diminishes.

I don't reload so I can't speak to the cost of components. I haven't been to a gunshow in a few years, not because of covid or a sudden disinterest in guns - there just aren't any deals any more. Most of these guys are asking retail prices for an old banger that looks like it was dug up off the bottom of a river bed.

That’s been my experience as well. Have not been to a gun show in three years. Not sure I’ll ever go again. I used to go to 5-6 a year.
