This is my newest project. This is a 1951 16ga that had a polychoke barrel on it. Nothing wrong with a polychoke HOWEVER, I just happened to acquire a 26" Imp-Cyl barrel some time back. Its a 1949 barrel, based in its serial number.

The fore end wood needs refinished, and I just happened to have this fore end. I do like the "Deluxe Standard Grade" look, that became an option in 1955.

I have a few.....that don't, all 16's. The 20's that I had (Ithaca 37's) were sold to a friend to help fund Corvette performance parts, they didn't either and were of that era.

I had bought this one for parts, but I just can't bring myself to part them out, so I rescue them.

And I have a Savage 755A 1952 vintage, MOD barrel, no Poly and a Stevens 77 20ga pump, this era, no poly.

You just have to look hard, and yes, sooooooo many had polychokes on them, even from the factory.
