I bought a couple cases worth of some old peters and peters victor 16 ga shells at an auction this last weekend. The boxes appear to be in great shape with no corrosion on the brass. Are these collectable or just shoot them and save the hulls? https://ibb.co/JqXhF3c https://ibb.co/c83W1mv

For Ryan

If you have a need for them, shoot them, they will function well Smile

Are they paper?

I'd shoot most of them, but keep a box or two on the shelf for good. Of course, I'd shoot them on occasions when it seemd right, not just blow them on a couple rounds of clays.

The second pic link shows the hulls. Both are plastic. They appear to be the same hull but have different crimps. The victor shells are red and have a melted center in the crimp. Can that style be reloaded?

The welded crimp can be reloaded, but it will likely leave a hole in the middle. Unless you trim it. Depending on what you're loading, it may not be a problem.

I have a few old boxes that have shells and I don't intend to shoot them but they make great bookends for my small hunting and fishing library.

Put a box aside, the best condition etc, then shoot the rest. Unless you are dove shooting you maybe surprised how long a few boxes last.
