I would be interested in a Lee Load All in 16gauge with 20gauge conversion or vice versa in new or almost new, or an older single stage Mec.
Thanks, Dave

If you can't find one here try the local gun clubs/shops even if they don't have one on hand they word can start getting around. The ones on ebay go for as much as brand new ones.Go with the MEC 600 JR

loaner - search around here and you'll see that load-alls are cheap enough to buy one for each...Midway has lee's for approx. $38 before shipping...

there's a thread on shotgunworld.com in the reloading forum too - seems the Lee's bring out quite a variety of opinions

observations from my own shopping:
used mec 600/650 in 20ga. can be had for around $50 +/-

used 16ga stuff is almost non existent - look for a new machine - many recommend a Sizemaster model of MEC

good luck

You can get a brand new Lee for pretty dang cheap. Or look at eBay, the difficulty is going to be finding the 16 bore. You could buy another guage and then get the 16 conversion new.

Saw one in a local pawnshop last week for 28 bucks. Not sure what it came with as I was not interested having just bought a new from Midway for 38 bucks that came all outfitted for 16GA. Though its the first shotshell reloader I've ever owned and used, I have to give it two thumbs up. The thing is simple and works shockingly well. The shells I've turned out have almost all looked real nice. I've only made a couple mistaakes so far and thats about all it took to figure out its subtle nuances.

jig, is it picky about what kind of hulls you use? i've heard guys say that it will only work well with certain brands.

Too new to really answer that question. So far, I have only loaded federal Purple and Remington Blacks, and had no problems whatsoever with them.
I have a bunch of preprimed cheddites on the way from Graf's as we speak and will see how those work next. Ive never loaded hulls that werent shot once. Might see some crimp issues i've never faced before, I don't know.
