Well I had a chance to use a few of these PMC 4s between Fri and today on pheasants. They work well and hit hard. I probably had too much choke after reading about the patterns these things throw (haven't had a chance to test them, but I will).
I was using a Skt tube in the right barrel and had a Full tube in the left barrel of my new Merkel.
I hit a hen at about 40 yds with the second barrel, solid hit. When I took the bird from the dog you could feel the crushed bones moving.
The right barrel however dropped the birds just as well without the extensive damage. So I guess I'll be switching the left barrel to Skt2 or something there about.

hey, thanks for the info on those, that is great news, most of my loads shoot best through the more open chokes (like CYL thru IC)...like you said, even out to 40 yds.....I'm glad these seem to stay tight, well done,

Cascade has 40 flats of these shotshells remaining. I just talked to Candi on the phone. |

Well, I might just have to order another case or 2.
You can't beat the load and performance for the $$$. |

Britgun. Bass pro shops had some remington Game Loads in 16 gauge. 7 1/2"s & 8's for 3.99 a box. I don't know the ballistics and trying to find out from Remington is almost impossible.I thought I'd order a couple of boxes just to see what the say on the box. That's about the only thing Remington sells in 16 gauge. I know there's one dealer south of me selling 16's in 2 1/2". I'm going down to see what he's got. |

Do they ship? can I order on line?
Thanks for the lead, old hunter! It's nice to have a few cheap flats around, when my shooting overtakes the old reload supply!!

Evening Fellow 16er's,
The remington shells you inquiry about list at 1200fps and are 1oz. payload. I've found them to be somewhat dirty to my liking. But they do bust the clays and dust the birds!
Dunc, have you had a chance to bust any yotes yet with the T's?
I cranked 2 of em today at about 20yds. Just didn't seem fair

Charlie, I'm so jealous, I've been getting ready for my African trip (we build orphan homes), I haven't done any 'yote bustin' at all....I REALLY got to get a couple before I leave...thanks, I'll make a couple calls right now and line somethin' out, it's the coyote "rut" right now, so they are a little harder to coax in, but hey, they gotta eat, right? I'm servin' up injured bunny....thanks to you, I got the right medicine..... I may pony up for some of those Remmys....
hey, my buddy told me a great way to get these coyotes....you take a chicken, and tether it with some fishing line out in the open, and you make the line bite in a little, and that chicken makes a lotta noise, and those dawgs make a beeline, and it's like fish in a barrel... then when you're all done, you go home and eat the chicken!

[quote="britgun"} I bought 4 more cases this quote]
1000 rds of #4 HD Field loads. That's a LOT of pheasants. LOL
It would take even me with the birds I shoot every year at least 4+ years to use it up. |

That would be me! It was a public service announcement, not an arm twisting. |
