While perusing the Remington 2007 catalog I noticed 16 gage was no longer an option for the double guns. 16 gage is still listed on the price list but not the catalog. I suspect Remington may have a few of these guns left in inventory and when they are gone there will be no more.
I view the Bakal/SPR guns as good guns for the money. They are not pretty but mechanics seem to be of good quality. The 16 SxS was a more appealing gun than the 12 due to the slimmer barrels (purely personal opinion which I suspect most of you will agree).
For every step forward (16 gage BPS) it seems there is a step backward (no SPR 16). |

Too bad the Spartan was a decent entry level gun for the 16 shooter |

I agree, I've got a 210 in 16ga and it has perfomed wonderful this past season. The ONLY complaint I have is that its to damn heavy for a 16. If this gun was 1/2lb lighter it would be a great field gun. The wood is not bad at all if you refinish it and the gun is built like a brick S-house. Overall for the $$$ its hard to beat.
Too Bad!!!
