Very Happy Hi all, I had a chance to look at a Ringneck today in 16ga. Nice looking gun, handled well. My question is what is the true weight of this gun? While CZ site says 6.8lbs, it sure seemed lighter than that. I know balance plays a big part as does wood, it seemed to me it weighed much less.

What the real deal on weight?

Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!

Greg

Wood density varies and this will have an effect on total weight

Something is not quite right here. I've been told the CZ 16 actually weights well over 7 pounds by at least several ounces by a couple of folks who own one. I was thinking about buying one until I learned this little piece of news. Wood is not going to make that much difference. Something tells me CZ personell are reading that weight from literature and do not actually know the facts. under 7 pounds is being optimistic about the weight issue i'm betting. Anyone who reall knows the true facts rather than here say, feel free to weigh in here-no pun intended.

Hey Guys,
I weighed my DeHaan SO at work the other day, 7#2oz but as I said before it handles better than that. DeHaan SO is same as CZ Bobwhite, as is the S2 is the same as the Ringneck. Mine has 28" bbls.

Well there you go. Thanks Charlie. I appreciate your candor and your response.

However, don't pass up a good deal on either the 28 ga. or .410 models with 28 inch barrels. These two little guns are real sweeties at bargain basement prices for these two gauges.

It's too bad CZ and Huglu could not reduce the weight of the 16 by a 1/2 pound. A 6-1/2 to 6-3/4 pound gun would have done it for me in a heartbeat based on the two little gauge guns I bought. Just wasn't to be, and I can't say why it could not have. Others have done it. However, if a fellow has one and likes it, then that is all that matters really, especially at the price he got it.

The CZ 28 is a sweet little gun. It'll make a shotgunning surgeon out of anyone who shoots it. It goes to the shoulder and swings so nice. The light weight (5#9oz on my scale) has everything to do with it. Its so nice that a 28ga conversion for the loader is next on the list.

I'm almost scared to let my wife try it out because I'll never get it back!
