On an earlier thread I said I had another Frenchie on the way, it arrived today. It turned out to be a really nice gun made by St Etienne (MAS); it has ejectors, small amount of nicely executed engraving, good wood with a POW grip and checkered butt, very fine checkering on stock and forend. The barrels are 26 2/4" and like new inside, a very neat transition from the breech to the sunken rib. 6lbs 2 oz. Both ejectors are kicking fired or not but the gun needs a good cleaning, lots of dry congealed oil. Best part of all, 323.00 including shipping, I will post some photos when its cleaned up.

Tres Bien, Jim...... they usually have needed a little "amour" before ready to go into the field.... in my experience....

Congratulations, and good luck with it. Lets get some photos up.
On another note does anyone know of a good, informative book on vintage French game guns? |
