A 2 3/4" shell fits just fine in a 2 9/16" (short) chamber because 2 3/4" shells are not 2 3/4" long until they are fired So a new shell fitting is not a test of anything.

Both of these guns were made with 65mm chambers, the proof is in the date of manufacture and the proof marks, the 16 65 in the epsilon is a legal mark, 16 gauge an d 65mm chamber. 65 mm is 2 9/16".

AND chamber length is not the big problem anyway. The mechanism will not eject and feed long shells, so if the gun fires the hull wedges in the loading port and jams the gun.

Go to the shotgun world, browing website and look at the recent posts, there is a guy with a similar gun and there are stickys at the top of the page on how to tell if the 12 machining steps required to make the conversion to 2 3/4" have been done.

After you've read that if you have any questions please let me know.

Jeff
