| They're extremely heavy and not much to look at. However, they are also well-built and a good value at that price point. I have a 28 that shoots where I point it when I pull the trigger. Having said that, you might be able to find yourself a used Stevens 311 or even a Nitro Special in 16 at about the same price if you look hard enough. |

I put 5000 rounds thru my 16 over the winter-----not pretty or well refined but went bang every time----also ran some decent scores----look for my thread on this under general discussion  |

Good Morning OH(Oldhunter)-I don't have any experience with the O/U, but I do own a 28 Gauge SxS, from the experience with that little gun. I wouldn't be reluctant to buy one at all. She ain't the prettiest Girl at the Dance, But she can dance to any tune the band can play. I am really seriously considering one of the 16 Gauge SxS's, would really be a great bad weather, go to gun if conditions would chinger one of a little more value. I hunted year before last with a young man with one of the SPR O/U's in 20 Gauge, it never missed a beat and the kid did good with it. He shoots on a youth trap league and does very well. So my take on the guns overall would be they are built to last, riden hard and put away wet(figuratively speaking).

As has been said - they ain't pretty, but they do work! I have a 16ga OU, and am pretty happy with it.
That said, based on other posts on the forum, it appears Remington has taken all 16's out of their catalog. You may have to find used, if you want one. |

| Picked up my new 310 16 gauge o/u today. Yes it's heavy. Will take and pattern it tomorrow. Changed the tubes to mod and i/c. Just wish we hadn't got the 2 feet of snow last week. The pheasant preserve will be closed. My first o/u. Won't take the place of my A-5's, but looks good on the wall.. |
