O.k., so I admit...I'm new to loading 16 gauge shotshells. In fact, havn't loaded a single one yet. Got my new MEC 650 bolted to the reloading bench, and I'm ready to go...but still waiting on BP for my wads. In the Hodgdon Manual they list a wad for 16's. It's a BPG/BP. What is this wad? Who makes it? And, where to you get them? Also...picked up a 3/4 oz. charge bar at Sportsman's yesterday for $5.99. Anyone want to share a 3/4 oz. recipe with me?? (powder?, grains?, bushing? wad? Primer?, velocity?...).
Thanks,
Rich |

Baschieri & Pellagri and Gualandi wads I think are what you're looking for.
Grafs and Precision Reloading carry them. |

mkrporte-
I have been using the above mentioned wad with 1 ounce loads and am pleased. Recoil in my light game gun is not an issue. Those lighter loads may require a filler of some sort to get a good crimp. Any reason for a light load? |

Well, I'm thinking of trying a 3/4 oz. load with #9 shot. Less shot per shell = more loads per pound. With the price of shot climbing, gotta try and cut back some where. And since we get ripped off with the price of wads versus the traditional 12/20, a guy has to make it up somewhere. I ordered some Remington SP16's and some International Supersonics from Precision this morning(I hope they're faster than BP). Still don't have my order from BP Your help is appreciated. |
