Drew - Thank you kindly for the invitation - let's work on the details off line but yes, I'd like to come out and hunt with you once things here get warm, then hot, then too hot, then cool a bit again but before it gets back to "cold enough for ya?"

Best regards,

It looked about like that out of some plum thickets in western Kanas in Jauuary; only problem was we watched them from about 1/4 mile away Sad !

Drew:

WOW Shocked Not quite like Russell (which comes in a close second Wink )

Are there plans to go to SD?

I'm in Springfield (bought 5 cases of remington 16s at $36.90 per case at BassPro) for LOTS of dr16ga specials.

Tomorrow I go to Mt. Vernon for National Upland Classic runs - Last Chance Wings and Labs has 4 dogs running in Amateur Flushing.

Winner, SD is the place to go to see Pheasants like that! I remember when I went there the first time about 5 years ago. I saw more Roosters in 10 minutes strutin' around across from the Holiday Inn Parking lot than I saw anywhere in Wisconsin. I also probably saw more Learjets sitting at the local airport than I have ever seen in one place as well!

Funniest thing I ever saw up there was about 8 guys with shotguns (including the driver) jumping out of a still moving pickup bouncing down into a public hunting area that had to have about 1000 Pheasants bailing out of it. I bet we heard about 30 shots and not a single bird fell! Laughing

And for the not so faint of heart I know some guys who can hook you up on a Coyote Hunt from a Crop Duster! Shocked

They also said they met a Rancher in a local restaurant up there that figured he has about 200+ of those furry pheasant eaters on his 6000 acres. He let them hunt pheasants on his property for free in the morning if they promised to spend the afternoon calling coyote's. They called in 15 of them in 2 hrs and shot 6 so bring your varmint rifle with you when you go!

I'd be game for a trip with a bunch of 16ga'ers.

I'd be up for it - especially the double bill - roosters and coyotes, that would be a hoot!
