16ga is a good site. I enjoy the considerate discussion of the members. Also, reloading advice is good, and free. I don't understand the relatively
low use and esteem of the 16ga. A fine shoot, but not a part of trap or
skeet competition. I have several 16ga, with my favorite a 16ga double
LC Smith, a field grade with a replacement stock, of AAA grade walnut. Very
nice, and shoots like a dream.

Let me know ASAP.

I really think you need to get away. Besides, it will be fun for the last hurrah. Wink

welcome, this is the best site ever, I have learned so much, met some of the greatest men on the planet, and spent a lot of money lately buying classic Yankee 16 bore scatterguns.... so be careful, this place can get you rolling!

have a great time here!
Enjoy that Nitro and Hunter!

Thanks for the welcome all.....I thought the 'how old are our members' survey was interesting.... I have three grandsons and two kids....trying to accumulate enough side-by-sides to enjoy bird hunting with and to then hand down to them.... I have two more to go...figure they can fight over the non sxs's.....

I would not want to let them have any excuse to not have enjoyed a good sxs...(good excuse to try and get wife on board...semi-working so far)

Welcome gspchip! What part of the country do you call home? And what do you hunt with those 16s?

I live in central Iowa...been in the midwest for 15 or so years....grew up in East Tennessee/Southwest VA mountians...dad would buy my 4 older brothers and me a gun when we were about 11 or 12 years old...mine was an old remington hammer double with damascus barrels..

my son and I are avid bird hunters and both have german shorthairs.... hunt pheasant here in Iowa and SD...hunt sharptail and chickens in SD and some quail in southwest Iowa.... recently bought a couple of older 16's..... redoing the wood on one now, waiting for the other......eager to get them out for little spin...
