Wish to replace the field grad butt stock with an upgrade. Anyone seen factory reproduction buttstock wood offered at a fair price? |

Boyds lists them for 38.28 in a stock grade, they can upgrade if you choose to. I wouldn't think it wouldn't be too expensive in any case, there isn't a lot of inlet work on a model 12 stock. www.boydsgunstocks.com for a catalog. |

You might try Donne Gemes out of Mo. He is one of the fellows that bought part of Fajen. You can get a Mod 12 stock Semi inletted any way youl like it and how fancy of wood you want. He is very reasonable price. His No. is 1-660-438-4568 |

....do check ebay now and again.... go to sporting goods, and then try "16 gauge", "16ga" and "16 ga", as people write it all those diff ways..... i have seen a lot of 16ga Model 12 wood, but have paid no attention, some of it might have been nice.... |

Midwest Gun Works has a bunch of NIB factory Winchester Model 12 wood, and a bunch of Browning M12 repro wood, in both standard grade with checkering and high grade. Butts and forends, gloss and matte. The high grade sets are $750 now, so keep checking ebay. Browning wood fits the Win guns, but you'll need to replace the butt plate and grip cap to make it look right. Their factory wood fits only the small frame (28-20-16) frames. You can still find lots of the Sile wood sets, made in Italy for the 12 gauge guns, but it doesn't look like factory wood. |

They will duplicate your factory stock with any of 5 different levels of wood to choose from. It's up to you how much you want to spend.
I'm having a Merkel restocked now with their Extra Fancy English Walnut for $1400.
Their standard level I believe is around $700. |
