What hulls are you using? are you willing to trim them down? or fill them with fried rice?

Can you substitute cards in those loads for the food? I'm afaid if I was shooting those my game official might bust me for baiting.

Skip

Duncan, have you joined the 16ga reloading group? I've never used LS in 16ga reloads, but I wouldn't doubt but some of those guys have tried it, and probably sent the shells off to Tom Armbrust to have them pressure tested. My only concern with LS and 7/8 oz 16ga loads is that LS is a pretty dense powder, which means you're going to have to take up more space with filler--compared, say, to Unique. I use both LS and Unique in 28ga reloads, depending on the hull. I drop about 14 grains of LS with a #13 Mec bushing. Using a #19 bushing, I get about 13 grains of Unique. Heck of a difference there!

Larry, I use Longshot in my 16 gauge L.P. reloads allot. For 3/4 oz, 7/8 oz, and 1 oz. I use no fillers, however I do trim my cases for a proper crimp. My cases vary in length from 2-7/16" to 2-3/4" I also use Longshot in my 28 and 20 gauge reloads.

Longshot and Unique look to be 2 very good low pressure candidates for the 16.... yes, fillers and such will need to be applied, especially for the LS, but the data looks good. Someone gave me 20 gr LS, SP 16 (needs puffed wheat) and Win 209 in Rem hull for about 7500 or so...and around 1200 fps..1 oz... this would be nice to shoot.... for me and the guns...
