....28", 4 tubes (2 IC's, guy threw in an extra....anybody ever shoot skeet with IC's?), NIB, total stumble-bum deal....went to check on my other Frenchie Ideal Robust (guy putting pad on for me) at local gunshop (a block down the street, he's been sittin on this Citori for YEARS and I never knew it), asked owner if he could hunt down a NIB Citori field straight stock field for me.....said probably not, but he had THIS one, some guy had ordered it long while back, never picked it up... screamin deal, got lucky, now I can test all my wacky loads and not blow myself up....(jus' foolin')....so now maybe the O/U guys will talk to me, let's see, I got the pump guys on board, and the auto guys, hmmmmm, all that's left are the single shot, muzzle loader, and hammergun guys..... (well, and the flame thrower guys, potato gun guys, slingshot guys, etc etc)

Britgun that stack barrel will be fun for a while but they just don't feel like a SxS. When your hunting you'll still want one of those american classics cradled in your arm. But if you decide you love it send your SxS to me I'll pay the shipping.

Britgun. I also bought my first O/U this winter. Not a Citori. But a 16 gauge. I bought one of those Remington SPR 310"s. Two trips to the pheasant run using it, Nine out of ten pheasants. It's heavy but I actually like shooting it better then the sweet sixteen. You just have to remember to reload. If you shoot and knock down the bird with the first shell and then go on and you miss on the first shot the next time you don't have another chance. I think it's even got straight barrells. The I/C choke will do just fine for skeet-----just a little tighter-should pose no real problem Wink

Duncan - based on the orifice your local guy pulled that gun from, you'd best clean 'er good using some Charmin wipes and maybe some talcum powder...

I've shot a bunch of skeet with O/Us tubed IC/C. No problem at all. If I get an O/U with two skeet chokes or can roud 'em up, great. If not, IC/C is fine. I take the first, or going away bird with the IC and shoot the second bird with cylinder. The misses, sadly, I can't attribute to the choke tubes, just the goof on the butt end of the gun. Of course, I'm not a competitive shooter, just a guy passing time and getting some low-gun practice as he waits for the next bird season.

Skeet can certainly be shot well with IC chokes. BUT, if you want skeet chokes or even cylinder chokes Browning offers them in stainless steel flush mount chokes made by Briley for less than $20 apiece. Well, that's what I paid for mine about 3-4 years ago!

So, you were just standing there minding your own business in that shop, when the Good Gun Fairy snuck up and smacked you off the back of the head with his magic wand and poof, you woke up the owner of a new Citori 16 ga. That's a likely story. We'll have to confiscate the gun and examine it for fairy dust to confirm this one buddy.

In the mean time, just go shoot it and enjoy it. I wouldn't let the SxS "Silly Sisters" around here bother you. You'll soon be outshooting them and they'll settle down soon enough. I find that pegging a few spent R16 wads at them chases them off if they get too pesty. Wink
