Great post! Your findings reflect my own experience.
Could you share with us the powder/charge and primer?

Mike - have you sent out any samples for pressure testing? Would it be a logical next step to make the recipe a publishable one?
Perhaps I missed it - are you using/starting with a load from the LPG?
Thanks for the well written post - it answers most of the questions without asking. |

Fabulous post, The world is a better place because you are willing share your results, thank you for your time.
I'm new to the reloading of shotshell's and posts like these really help me understand what goes into load development. |

Mike,I have also come to the same conclusions.Factory ammo often displays a wider range of fps than my ammo.Using the orange 20 duster wad, spacers and 3/4 oz shot my only adjustment was to increase the powder charge to achieve 1200 fps and reliable feeding in me semi autos. |

Mike,
Shot a round of skeet yesterday with a 100 yr old G E Lewis SxS and the SG20L/ Rem hull, 7/8, Win 209, 16 gr Univ.
What a delightful load!. Recoil was non-existent and it powdered em fine.
I suspect this is producing <1100 f/s based on my perception of the lead required on crossers. I'll be working on finding a load closer to 1200 with sub 9K pressure.

Hey Mike and group:
I have dropped down to 3/4 oz 8.5s with 13.3 grains green dot, remington primer and remington black game load hull - will send some for pressure testing later in May. I find this works really well for me.
Thanks for your post! |
