Ihave a chance to get a 16 ga. Ithaca Flues 28" bbls. Any opinions on this gun ? I think I remember that they were somewhat iffy...is that true? I'll go look at her this weekend to check for loose ribs, off-face, chokes and chamber length, etc. Anything else I should pay special attention to on this model?

Thanks, guys!

The issue with the Flues guns is frame cracking due to use with modern higher pressure/more recoil ammo. These guns were designed to be shot with ammo that operated below the pressures of todays. I have owned and shot these guns all my life but never have had a problem because I load low pressure for them. In my world they make a good handling rabbit,Quail, chukar gun. No good to shoot clays games with---too light , beat you up. Check it out if its on face with good wood, ect. they are worth the money. Make sure to look close at the forcing cones to make sure some reamer jockey Rolling Eyes did not go over board on a cone job. Good luck if you buy it and let us know how it worked out. Smile
