He he. Glad to see so many of you took the bait! Razz I thought I might stir the pot with this post. There's no way I would trade my Lefever for anything but a higher grade Lefever, but I was curious how all of you felt. It's nice to see that you are all of a like mind. I think that's why I like this site so much.

That Elsie is amazing. If I could upgrade my H to look like that (not that I couldn't), I'd be sorely tempted. I held an high condition Lefever FE 12b recently at a gun show that was amazing, and he was asking $2,500. If it was a 16, I would have been tempted to trade up.

A friend of mind at my dog club today showed me his restored Elsie 16fw. 30", 6 1/4lbs., Beautiful. Funny thing is though, he's lusting after my un-restored H more than his restored Elsie. At least I know I have a buyer for it if I ever need one. The grass is always greener I guess. Wink

P.S. - Sorry about changing names during my post. I'm still trying to figure out what I like. Fethrduster is another name I like, from the other board which shall remain nameless. Rolling Eyes

I happen to like gaudy wood. I also like Baroque art, so i'm not surprised. To each his own.

Larry commented on the trigger placement on the O Grade L C Smith, on Gunbroker.. The Hunter One Trigger could be ordered in any one of three positions, Front, middle or rear. I can't really tell if this one is in the front or center, my guess is front.. I also noted the seller has the date of manufacture wrong, he says 1919 but the gun was made in 1911..It is a nice upgrade.. On the subject of the post, never trade a classic on anything except another classic.. MDC

I have been watching this gun for several weeks now. Not that I could ever afford it, but I wanted to see where others priced it.

The last time it was listed it went to $7000 plus but apparently did not meet the reserve price.

I take comfort in believing that it is too pretty to actually take out shooting and never ever take in the field so I wouldn't want it. ( Yeah.....right) Rolling Eyes

Mark:

If that gun is being offered by a dealer in the central mid west, I have held it in my hands.

I was not as impressed with it as the pic might make you think. However, the wood, well, it is just as impressive.........

Yes huntschool, I do believe that is the same gun. I could get a nice E grade Lefever (or a great start on one of the new ones that Ken Hurst is building) for what the gun in the pic is going for.

UncleDanfan: I don't think Ken is "Building" a new LeFever, They're trying to get a guild organized to build it.. MDC
