I went to the NRA convention Saturday. Very nice affair. I ran into a couple guys from the 16 ga Society. I had stopped by the Smith & Wesson booth. They had a little SxS that was very impressive for the money, $2300. It is called the Elite Gold Series. It was also made in Turkey. I'm always a little worried about a gun made in Turkey. I don't know why. Any way the salesman told me Smith set up and runs their own factory there. It is made this first year in 20 ga only but he told me they plan to make it in every gauge except 12 ga. He said they would make it in 16 ga but he didn't know when. I asked where it would be serviced if needed, and he said their gunsmiths in the US plant would do the service. I told him about the 16 gauge society and he said he had never heard of it. It might be a good time to contact S&W to show there might be enough interest to make the 16 ga next year. |
