Just don't expect any 16ga shells....I was in there a week ago and [despite my heated written and verbal complaints] they still don't seem to stock 'em.
Evil or Very Mad I'm sure it was just an oversight on their part.

I hope you and Hagrid are doing well! Stop in and say Hi with more frequency too.

I check in here now and again to see what kinda slander you and Hunshatt are hurling back and forth <LOL>. Had a few things going on recently, but I look forward to the Maine Get together in Scarborough; should be good fun!

I will not be able to make it Saturday. My daughters softball team made it to the finals and she is pitching. I will definitely see you guys at the UJ gathering in Maine.

Hunn,

Regarding hotels - I'm not especially familiar with anything there personally, but I looked on the UJournal posting for the event and see the Motel 6 mentioned as a place folks stayed last year (I believe dog friendly) though apparently nothing special as far as surrounding. Last year I think they'd worked a discount for those staying there & attending the event.

Also mentioned was the EconoLodge located right by the Maine Mall. They also are dog friendly...someone priced it at "$98.99 plus $10.00 for dogs.". That was posted the end of April. One of folks here at the office suggested the Marriot at Sable Oaks. It's near the Mall and a little "higher end" in quality & $$, but also takes dogs (I'm told).

If you're travelling without dogs and you don't mind spending a few bucks, the opportunities open up quite a bit. Freeport has a number of Inns within walking distance of Bean's and a bunch of shops..very quaint. If the ladies aren't going to shoot or hang out at the event, they'll probably like Freeport.

The Harraseeket Inn [at Freeport] is a bit pricey (see below) but pretty nice and large enough that there's probably availability...and I do see they have "pet friendly rooms". Sprocket...I seem to recall they have a good variety of beers in their restaurant.

May 5, 2007 - June 29, 2007
- Room rates from $145 - $252
- Suites available from $235 - $260

June 30, 2007 - October 25, 2007
- Room rates from $189 - $299
- Suites available from $295-$305

Freeport's about 10-15 minutes drive from the Scarborough grounds.

I'm sure there are a ton of hotels in the city of Portland if one chooses to go that route, but I can't provide any suggestions there.

For what it's worth, I was told a couple of years ago, that the Sheraton in South Portlad, across from the Maine Mall, allows dogs. It's not cheap but it's an option that is very close to the Scarborough site.
