Here's the Harkom BL 16. We are going to replace the stock and reblack the barrels. Wingshooter has helped and will help in the wood purchase (what a great source of information that boy has! Not to mention his enthusiasm). I'm making a trip to Kirk Merringtion's place this wednesday to start the project.

I hate (no disrespect to the English) stock extensions, hence the restock.

Gun makes that dalbergia retusa call look plain.

Winshooter,

Please don't go to Stuttgart AR and call an RNT """dalbergia retusa""". Laughing

Nice looking piece! Too bad about the extension, cuz that's a nice stick of wood on it.

I agree, keep the original wood and put a period silver's pad on there, one of those red/orange jobs, or better still, leather-covered.....

Tiny knows his wood, thats for sure. That's a beautiful Harkom, my congrats to you!

Keep us posted on your progress. We'll all be waiting for the end result! Very Happy

Please promise that you will checker the new stock, no matter what Tiny says about uncheckered gunstocks.

Trust me 15'er, it'll be checkered deluxed!

I don't think the original stock would look good with a pad on top of an extension. I need 14 7/8 and it's sittin' at 14.

Thanks for the compliments.

MC

so it's 14 now, including extension? they do make those 1 1/2" silvers pads....how long is the extension? there is also a guy in England that can take your stock, put an "invisible" extension on it, and you can't even see the line.... they blend in all the figure, then checker the butt to where you can't even tell.... you could send it to him, call Charlie at Hill Rod and Gun 406 585 2228.... Charlie and I know this guy really well, and he does this work for Boss, Purdey, Holland, etc etc, but he's not expensive..... he does most of this type of work for the gun trade over there..... it's criminal to replace that gorgeous, original stock!!

Amarillo Mike owns an English gun that belonged to me that has had this work done to it.... ask him about it, or have him send you a photo... he'll verify this guy's abilities...
