so last night I opened a bottle of Caol Ila 12 year. Never heard of it before, but it was on special and made it under my $40 ceiling. Not bad, much less heavy/peaty than I normally embibe. Almost sweet, and after I added a cube it got sweeter. |

Sounds yummy. I'm a big Armagnac fan, which is a more distilled version of cognac. Usually under the $40 ceiling, but not always. |

Last night I had two stiff Grant's on the rocks, and with dinner (grilled catfish, baked potato, lima beans), several glasses of Macaroni Grill chianti (yeah, I know: white/red, fish/meat, yada yada). My tastes were a little more plebian, but the whole caboodle, dinner included, was under $40 . |

Homebrew Bourbon Vanilla Imperial Stout - BVIS (Be-Viss), brewed Nov. 2006
A flavorful full bodied beverage with approx. 8 or 9% ABV, chill to approx. 55 degrees and serve.
Warms the spirit and the body, excellent in stew or with stew - or drink it with your buddy Stew if you have one. |

i've been home brewing for over 30 yrs. went from kits to all grain. right now i buy a 54 lb. bag of 2 row, a lb. of northern brewer hops and a pound of cascade. london ale yeast grown to ptch in 40 oz. throws. 1/2 lb. of brown sugar at start of boil. yields 25 gallons in 5 brew sessions. nothin' like it when you tip your glass back to drain the last and there's still a big chunk of rocky foam sliding down the side of glass towards home. looking for a good pheasant recipe that includes steeping in beer. life is good even tho i only broke 54 this morning sporting clays |

hey Husn, all this drinking, are you doing any shooting?
Got a name or two for hotels up there in Maine for that shoot the end of July? I want to make reservations so I know I'm not sleeping in the car. |
