Just picked up one of those the other day. Stock a bit short (slip-on pad takes care of that), chokes WAY tight (.023/.028, which is like a tight IM/F), but never messed with. 1923 gun, chambers still short, bores really nice, quite a bit of CC left. Shot it surprisingly well at skeet, considering all the choke and the fact it has more drop than my other guns (but looks like I can live with the drop).
Will probably use it for the simulated pigeon ring at the UP Shoot, where lots of choke comes in handy, but expect I'll open it some eventually. Doubt I'll mess with the chambers. 2 3/4" shells (mostly 7/8 oz reloads) showed no signs of problems from the short chambers.
Makes a nice companion piece for my 28ga Parker Reproduction. |

"Simulated pigeon ring" is probably a poor description. The ring is real, with an oscillating trap in the middle. Throws clay birds with a "witness" (blaze orange tail) attached. Not only do you have to break the bird, but as in a real live pigeon shoot, the witness has to drop in the ring. You hope for a day with very little wind . . . |

Larry,
"Does the dirty work when the Army & Navy stay home". More fitting than an American and Japanese companion. |
