I decided to convert my 16ga Citori to extractors. For those interested here is how I went about it.
Tools/Parts: One #2 Phillips, Two Normal tension 1911 firing pin return springs.
Note the difference in spring size.(L)is the 1911 (R) is the factory spring
First place a set of snap caps in the chambers. Dry fire and eject the snap caps.
Close the gun about half way and remove the forend, now the ejector hammers are uncocked.
Place the forend on a padded surface and with your # 2 Phillips remove the two screws that hold the forend iron in place. (Note the screws are not the same size so pay attention as to position)
Once the screws are removed the iron should slide out the end of the forend.
Remove the factory springs by pushing the spring and the pin away from the hammer. Do the same for each side.
Install the new 1911 springs.
Reinstall the iron in the Forend taking care not to reverse the screws.
Reinstall the forend on your gun and there you have it selective extractors
The whole process only takes about five minutes. Put the factory springs in a bag with a label for safe keeping. |

Ditto. The pictures are great for giving novices, like me, some confidence to try this nifty technique.
Thanks,

I just got a 16 ga. white lightning and was wondering where you purchased the "1911" springs. That looks like a great idea. |
