I'm thinking about buying an Atlas trap thrower from Cabellas. Has anyone had any experience with them and their remote. It says the remote will activate the machine from up to 70 yds away. I could only find one review on Atlas trap machines on the internet. I found a lot of reviews on the Do All and thats why I decided to look at the Atlas machine. |

We bought one for our pasture clays group last year. Have to say that we are satisfied with it. Have both releases, foot and hand one each work well. Now we are adding the cart feature so we can get more angles on the birds. All in all it is a good buy. |

i'm looking for a trap thrower myself. read the bad stuff about doall but i seemed to infer that if you're mechanically inclined you can tune them to work well. the price is good. don't know much about atlas, actually nothing. i'll have to figure a way to see one in person and see if they just need some tinkering or if they're stinkers. nice to be able to shoot out the back door. |

I too, from time to time, have considered getting an Atlas. What model were you considering? |

Thats what I like about this site, ask a question and usually get a lot of good information.
Since I made this post, I've asked some of the local shooters their opinion. I think I'll get the Atlas AT50. I looked on their web site www.atlastraps.com and noticed they make a new model called the Patriot for $599. That puts it in the same price range as the DoAll. I called the company and was told it was basically the same machine as the AT50 for $799. It uses the same clutch and electronics. The difference is it is made from galvanized steel instead of stainless. It also has a two year waranty as opposed to a five year waranty and there is a lttle difference in the way the machine is decocked. I also like the idea that the machines are made in the USA instead of China. There is also someone who answers the phone when you call them. Thats a pluss for me. |
