Has anyone either used or heard of this product? I accdidentally ran across the web page while looking for some other stuff. It sounds like an interesting product but the question is, does it really work?

The web address is littletonshotmaker.com

The price isn't too bad and if it does work, with the price of shot today, it might pay off by recycling reclaimed shot.

On edit, it looks like I haven't mastered the skill of entering a web page properly.

Art--The Littleton works but you 'have to hold your mouth just right'. Wink Someone on this site has a group of friends that uses one--I just can't remember who it is (they'll probably be along soon).

If you want to see/read about the littleton, go to www.shotgunworld.com then go into reloading and look at "Anyone make their own lead shot?"

My friends tell me that I don't hold my mouth right when I'm fishing, so, if it doesn't work for me then it probably won't work for me on this either.

On the other hand, there are always people telling me to keep my mouth shut...but I digress.

Thanks Woodcock.

the thread in shotgunworld is mighty impressive - from simple to overly complex systems - very worth reading for anyone willing to enter into shot making - I'm sure once you get the system down, its automatic but jaybus some of the things folks have done to save a buck.

On the other hand, I can get 100 lb bricks of lead damn near free (cost of gas to pick up...)

I went to the SGW thread too and it seems as though some of those guys are getting close to setting up a commercial operation.

It will probably work OK but it sounds like a lot of trial and error setting it up. I'll have to think about it for awhile.

Hello Art:

I have 6 machines that I made , copied from the Littleton nearly 20 years ago now , and am back to making shot again due to the prices.

The key component to this is either Synthetic Hydrolic fluid , or comon ole liquid Tide detergent , and set the hight to drop at 3 quartes stacked on top of each other and have fun doing it .

Regards Charles

Thanks Charles. I'm still mulling it over in my little pea brain. The price of shot is really making me think about it though.
