Hi all, whats your opinion on the LCS Uggie in Grade IV - looking at a 16ga DT, englisg stock. Are these a good buy for the money?
Thanks!!!!!

I think their grade 1 for $1295 in 16ga. is an unbeatable value in a well made [but admittedly spartan] gun. Where else can you find a new 6.25lb 16ga sxs with double triggers and straight stock for under $1500? I have thought about getting one as a chukar gun/backup gun for my Lefever. As for the higher grades, $2500'ish for the grade IV true sidelock is also an excellent value in my opinion. An Aya 4/53 is in that range but is a boxlock. I haven't heard anything untoward about Uggies other than their name. Does it have bushed firing pins and other nice features? No, they're pretty basic, and the wood isn't anything to write home about, but I think the Uggies are a great value just the same, especially for a HUNTING gun. |
