Hi all, I've got a lead on a 16ga SxS, choked .008 and .025. From the charts listed here on the forum, looks to me to be IC/Imp Mod. Does this sound right to you?
Any comments on these constrictions?
thanks as always!!!!!!

Sounds like Improved Cyclinder and Full to me.
But what the heck, I've never let choke stop me from buying a gun I liked.
If you don't like them, open them up. |

Nothing wrong with those chokes. Those words full, mod. and IC are just words of description, until you actually put a few different loads through a choke you have no idea of what you it will shoot. Manufacturers and shooters idea of a particular choke differs greatly. I'd say the .008 would be good. The .025 may prove a bit tight if so open it up some and pattern it, if its still not what ya want take a little more. My favorite bird gun is a 1948 NID 16 with 30" tubes choked .010 and .020. Buy it and enjoy it |
