Just came in and received some more anti-gun, this time from the nitwits at Ebay. My wife is a longtime auction and antique dealer here in our part of NY. who has listed many items over the years on Ebay has received a message from Ebay saying that in Aug. they are changing thier policies regarding firearms. The general message said they would no longer allow the listing of any firearm parts req. in the firering of a gun. This will include bullet tips(thier words), brass, shells(hulls), barrels, slides, cylinders, magazines, trigger assemblies, ect. The full list of thier new BS rules will come out in a week/so.
This is a dam shame as many of us I'm sure over the years have picked up parts and other related items for Our hobby through Ebay. I have made friends with many dealers in my searches for Ithaca, Remington and LC parts. I feel for some nice guys who list lots of things. This dumb ass new policy makes our world smaller as shooting sportsman.

It's really a shame. The thing that got me started on ebay was buying used guns and parts. When they banned gun sales, Gunbroker and others filled that void, but ebay was still the best for buying and selling used parts. I guess all that business will move over to gunbroker also.

What I havent figured out yet is if this will affect shotshell reloaders, like MEC and others? Seems like the hulls would be included but what about the reloaders, which are a big item on Ebay and a great way to find those used models and recyle them.

I can understand the no gun policy, but this goes way too far.

Just read the announcement on the Ebay site that states as of mid August all the new(yet to be totally decided upon, I take it) guidelines will take affect. All of this new policy is due to the violence which occurred at Virginia Tech.
I would think that all reloading presses plus all other related Item will be on the new NO-NO List. If you don't have ammo its hard to shoot the gun and of course without the gun items Ebay is really going to help reduce the crime rate in the World.
For those interested the announcement can be read on the Ebay site where they tell you whats new on Ebay. The last paragraph is interesting as it states, " This new policy continues to encourage safety among our community members and brings our policies in the U.S. and Canada into closer alignment with Our existing policies in other markets around the globe."

Incredibly disappointing.

But, on the brightside, see the this week's National Review:

The Second Amendment people are winning.

Over the years I've bought and sold rifle barrels, stocks, hulls, scopes, etc. over Ebay. Wonder where I can email or write to protest this bu!!shit. Evil or Very Mad

I agree, this totally sucks.

I know some will say, "Well, no big deal, people will just go over to Guns America or Auction Arms", which is true for the gun people, but I can see this driving up prices on parts, hulls, and reloaders. How?

Given that these parts can only be sold via fewer outlets, that would drive up the price and there is less incentive for average joe cleaning out the basement to bother looking for other websites to sell the gun stuff if he can't sell it on Ebay. Makes it much more likely that good gun parts, hulls, reloaders, barrels, etc. get dumped. *SIGH*

I don't know that the petition will help, but I signed in anyway. Oh well, looks like I'll have to find someplace new to get suckers to pay 22 cents apiece for once-fired 28 gauge hulls.

As most of you might know, eBay bought PayPal a couple of years ago. And of course, immediately polluted PayPal policies with their anti-gun proclamations. I sold a gun on Gunsamerica unaware of this change. A couple of months later, I got a notice that my PayPal account was permanently suspended. Not having a clue why, I called PP and got a snotty customer rep on the phone that informed me that using PP to sell/buy a gun or KNIFE Shocked Shocked was forbidden and my account was permanently closed. I did point out that there were currently about 10,000 knives for sale on eBay taking PP. Just got another snotty reply. Unfortunately, these liberals believe in social engineering in commerce.
