How important is it to you to support local Pro-Gun Companies?

I am thinking of businesses such as Body Shops, Car Dealers, Restaurants, Glass Shops, Insurance Companies, Grocery Stores, etc.

Would you be apt to support local businesses that you could recognize as Pro-Gun Rights?

[Or do you shop strictly price?]

I would shop Pro-Gun businesses, as I try to avoid the ones that aren't.

One reason I used to stay out of Homo Depot.
The CEO in the early 90s was a big contributor to Handgun Control.

On a more local level, the gunshop I use allows shooters to leave their business cards on display. I try to patronize them when possible.

Does Cabelas count? Very Happy

Kidding aside, I would and will if I know they are pro gun which is difficult unless you have some inside info or it's a big buisness that has come out against guns.

I do try to avoid any and all that I know to be anti. Wink

The NRA publishes a list of major corporations that contribute to anti-gun causes. It appears in the Rifleman and Hunter once a year.

I would support any buisiness that is pro gun and avoid any that are not. If someone were to start a registry or book on either pro gun and anti gun I would buy it.

I frequent progun businesses by default. That is, I shun any antigun business or those that screwed me in the past, like Cabelas.

So far I think it is unanimous. I will not knowingly give money to anyone who in turn is going to give it to an anti-gun group or candidate that I am going to have to fight in the future.

Hal:

Darn right, I help businesses I feel are pro-gun!

Last year, I heard from NRA sources that my auto insurance carrier (Progressive) was majority-owned by a guy who is a close pal of that idiot George Soros. I was informed that Progressive was, thus, a big financial supporter of Soros' political fronts like www.moveon.org A more anti-gun crowd you could not find! I changed carriers immediately to another national provider, and guess what? I saved even more money buying from a competitor!

This is no slap at progressive service, which I suppose is about as good as any insurance carrier. I just do not do business with companies who want to abolish the Second Amendment!!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I work for a regional insurance company [South and Mid-West] that is quietly pro-gun. We even have company shooting teams for shotgun and pistol.

I have encouraged Senior Management to come out of the closet, thinking there is a large and desirable segment of the population that would prefer us to some of the alternatives.
