Hi - New to 16ga Society. Name is Carl, over 3/4 of a century old. Hobbies are photography, cartridge collecting, ham radio & just trying to stay alive every day. My first post so bare with me.
*************************************************************I have a UMC CO. No 16 NITRO CLUB with a topwad reading Earhardt 8 Atchison. 1\2 in plain brass, brown or tan paper case & tan colored topwad. The case has a couple dark stains on it. I know how to rejuvenate the case with a light application of vaseline and immediately wiping down with a clean smooth flannel rag. The head is not rusted or corroded. Just black with age. No sense in trying to take a pic of it. Does anyone out there had any sperience on restoring it? I can be reached thru this forum or at IM0FF@NETZERO.NET Thank you Carl aka CW aka IMOFF and other names my wife calls me but not printable here.
*************************************************************I have a Peters & PC Co. Cartridge & Shotshell collection dating back to 1887. Head stamps pretty much complete except don't have all the gages. Plus lots of others including quite a few in 16 Ga. EOM |

Welcome Carl: I did a Google search for Earhardt & Atchison and came up empty. Amelia's dad was a railroad lawyer; no record of a Hardware or Sporting Goods store up in Atchison with that name.
Gonna be any quail in S. Central KS this fall? |

I collect the oldies too--sometimes lucky enough to find a full box in decent shape I have never bothered to restore/refinish them.Just enjoy that old look patina I guess |

Hoashooter - Do you have any problems delivering shotshells or cartridges
thru the postal system or do you have to use FedEx? Haven't sent any for
years so am not upto snuff on latest regulations? Carl aka CW aka IMOFF |
